God's Offer of Salvation

In all the world, there is only one announcement so truly wonderful and amazing that it could be called The Gospel. The word Gospel means The Good News! It is Good News; in fact, it is the best news because it comes from God. Allow us to share with you the Gospel, the Good News that you can know for certain, beyond all doubt, that you are going to Heaven when this life has ended.

We all Have a Problem

We all want to go to Heaven, but we also have a common problem that keeps us from going there. God tells us in the Bible that we are all sinners. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23). This means that every single person who has ever lived, including me and you, has sinned. Heaven is a sinless and perfect place so sinners cannot go there on their own.

God Loves Us

Friend, this is where we need the Good News from God. The central verse of all the Bible, John 3:16 tells us “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” God loves us so much that, even though we have sinned, He allowed Jesus to pay the price for our sins. The Bible says: “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

(Romans 5:8)

Jesus our Savior

Salvation, or being forgiven of our sins, is not about a plan or a program or even a prayer. It is a Person: The Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23). Jesus did something wonderful for you and me: He laid down His life so that we might have the gift of eternal life. Eternal life is life in heaven with God. Jesus died on the cross as a payment for our sins, but He didn’t stay dead, He rose from the grave and is alive forevermore! God’s offer of salvation is completely free. It is the gift of grace that He gives to all who believe. Salvation cannot be earned by our good works, baptism, or church membership.

You Can Be Saved

There was a man years ago who asked this question: “What must I do to be saved?” The Apostle Paul answered him: “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved..” (Acts 16:31). Just like that man, you too can be saved. If you would like to be saved, right now where you are, open your heart in faith and believe that Jesus paid the price for your sins, pray, and ask Him to forgive you and invite Him to become your Lord and Savior.

Assurance of Salvation

Can we REALLY know for sure we are saved? Yes, we can! “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” (1 John 5:13). Our salvation is secure because it rests in the power and promises of God.

Growing in Grace

God’s wonderful plan of salvation doesn’t end when we open our hearts in faith and believe on the Lord. This is just the beginning. God wants us to “...grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ..” (2 Peter 3:18). After we become Christian, we should declare our faith in Jesus by being baptized. Baptism is a statement of faith that you have put your faith in Him to save you and take you to heaven. God wants to have a real and growing relationship with you; this relationship grows as we read the Bible, talk to God in prayer, and actively serve in a local church.
